FittedKitchens.uk helps you choose a new fitted kitchen and find suppliers you can check for yourself before you sign anything or hand over a deposit. A kitchen purchase asks a first-time buyer to weigh up things they've never had to compare before: a carcass thickness against a guarantee term, a written quote against a trade membership, all before any money changes hands.
Who it's written for
It's built for anyone taking on a fitted kitchen, whichever end of the market they're buying at.
- A household planning a flat-pack range that a local tradesperson will fit.
- A buyer working with a showroom on a full supply-and-fit job.
- A landlord fitting a kitchen into let property or an HMO.

How it earns its keep
Two things pay for the site. The first is advertising, labelled Advertisement and kept apart from the guides, tables and directory entries around it, so what's paid for and what isn't stays clear. The second, once the enquiry tool is open, is passing a buyer's details on to the specific kitchen businesses they've chosen and agreed to be contacted by. Those businesses are named before you submit anything, and a privacy notice sets out what's collected, who it goes to, and how to have it deleted.
Being listed in the directory isn't an endorsement. An entry shows facts checked against a company's own published claims and its Companies House record, dated as they were checked, and it's those facts a buyer judges a supplier on, not a recommendation from the site. Questions about a listing, or anything else on the site, can go through the contact page.

Sourcing, drawings and reporting an error
How specification and legal figures are sourced
A specification figure here, such as a carcass board thickness or a guarantee term, carries the page it came from and the date that page was read. Kitchen makers update their ranges and their guarantee wording without much warning, so a figure taken from a maker's page last year can be out of date by the time you read it here. The date lets you go back to the maker's own page and check it again before you rely on it.
A legal statement works the same way but points somewhere else: to the Act or Approved Document it comes from, the section or paragraph number, and the nation it applies to. A right or a requirement in England is not always the one that applies in Scotland or Northern Ireland, so naming the nation matters as much as naming the section.
Why the directory shows a check date
Each entry in the supplier directory lists the checks a buyer actually uses to weigh up a supplier, things like trading status, written guarantees, trade membership and deposit protection, and the date each one was checked. Companies get struck off, memberships lapse, and guarantee wording changes, so a check made some months ago is not the same thing as a check made today. The date is there so you can judge for yourself whether it is recent enough to act on.
Why the drawings are drawn
The cross-sections, height stacks and hood-to-hob diagrams on this site are drawn. The same thinking applies to the news and design cards: each one links through to the publication that wrote it up, so the words and any quotes in it stay with the people who reported them.
